Stepping into Pablo Blau's salt treatment room immediately brought a wave of calm to my frazzled mind. I can have occasional difficulties controlling my breathing when I’m stressed or in polluted air, but from the moment I step into the salt room, I’m completely at ease and breathing is a breeze. The Signature Salt Room Customised Facial starts with a series of steps including double cleansing and skin analysis, followed by the dreaded extraction process, which turned out to be tolerable thanks to my therapist’s magical hands. In fact, it’s one of the least painful ones I’ve had! I was then treated to an indulgent face and neck massage, which I dozed off too. A good hour and a half later, I wake up from my half-slumber to a pleasant surprise: a glowing visage with significantly less whiteheads. My skin is plump and taut, with a slight lift along the cheekbones and jawline – an added bonus!

I have sensitive skin with some maskne, so my customised pore-cleansing treatment included a sensitive mask to calm my angry skin, as well as extractions, and a neck and shoulder massage. Post-facial, I felt refreshed, and my skin looked brighter and clearer. The real clincher: I did not break out extensively in the following days – which is common for me, even with the best of facials.

For my normal-dry combination skin, I was recommended the Detox Skin Refined—a 60-minute facial that is customised for various skin concerns. And despite the futuristic design of the environment, the treatment adopts an organic approach—natural ingredients are used in its products, which are meticulously massaged into the skin in every step, instead of machines. Even the extraction process was gentle, and there was little to no redness by the end of the treatment, which was completed with a soothing algae-based mask.

My skin emerged more radiant and plump with hydration after the facial, and the salt-covered lounge definitely made for an Instagram-worthy moment.

The next day, my pores still look quite tight and the more stubborn blackheads that were still on my nose and cheeks did not darken or enlarge any further, which would normally happen even if I had a facial the day before.

What was a little more incredible was that eczema on my wrist started to clear up on its own! It didn’t itch and I did not have to put any creams or ointments on the area. This continued for about a week, which I think is really incredible because it meant that my skin was actively healing on its own. Definitely a very good experience from just one treatment!
